Home/Work documents the workspaces of people who live and work in the same premises. The images here were all taken prior to COVID-19.
Through the commercial side of my photographic work I meet people who work in a huge range of industries and am fascinated by the variety of businesses people run from their homes. According to the Office for National Statistics, "There were 4.2 million home workers in January-March 2014, or 13.9% of those in work. This was the highest rate of home working since comparable records began in 1998.”
I am interested in how people create these workspaces and how the lines between home and work are defined or blurred.
You can see more images and find out more about the people who so generously opened their homes and workspaces to me in their individual galleries here.
